Nearly three decades in lighting design have afforded me opportunities to design a wide variety of projects. My work has been seen in regional theaters around the country, at festivals as far away as Prague, and, of course, at colleges and universities including my home base of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have helped to create fantastical dreamscapes like Shakespeare’s The Tempest as seen through a gamer's eyes, as well as realistic-naturalistic ones like The Grapes of Wrath.
I have also been fortunate to be able to mentor talented young students as they made their first forays into the field of lighting design. Under my guidance, they have explored the challenges of lighting a black box theater and an imposing proscenium in productions ranging from the bleak apocalyptic humor of Ionesco’s The Chairs to the sharp wit of Shaw’s Arms and the Man.
I invite you to explore these galleries of work I have done, both as an artist and as a mentor.
